picking out your puppy
Our goal in breeding is to create the best possible matches for our prospective families. With a goal of finding our babies their forever families, during their time with us we are continually evaluating the puppies personalities, hierarchy in the litter, abilities, drive, and bird drive. With this information in hand, we will help you choose the best puppy to suit your family based on your ultimate goals of the dog.
You’ll choose your puppy on the day you bring it home once the puppies are 8 weeks old. This way we have the maximum amount of time to watch their personalities and abilities develop and we have the most insight into each pup. We’ll pass on test results to each family and offer our recommendation for which puppies will best suit your lifestyle, sport, needs and desires. We’ve used this method for nearly 30 years and it has proven to be incredibly successful!
In the meantime, you’ll receive plenty of photos, videos, and updates on what we’ve observed with the litter! Puppies are able to go home at a minimum age of 8 weeks. We schedule the pick ups in the order of deposits being placed. If you are not able to come at that time, we’ll make arrangements with you to have your puppy picked out accordingly.
Reservations
We accept a $300 deposit (with sales tax) at the time of your puppy reservation. The purpose of the deposit is to guarantee that the puppy is yours and will not be reserved by another family. When you place your deposit, you reserve your spot in line to choose your puppy later down the line. Preferences are not guaranteed, but we make every attempt to help you choose the puppy that is the closest match to what you’re looking for. At the time of your deposit, you’ll know what number you are in line to choose your pup. When it comes time to pick up your new puppy, you’ll know what is available to you.
deposits and payments
Deposits are non-refundable. The only case where a deposit would be refunded is if the breeding does not take or your choice of sex/color is not born. If a puppy is not born to you, you have the option to be refunded or transfer your deposit to another litter. If the color/sex you specify is born and you change your mind, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We accept cash, check, or credit card payments. The balance of the puppy is due in full by the day the puppy turns 6 weeks old. Once the balance is paid in full and you have chosen your puppy at 8 weeks, we will send the AKC registration papers. If you’d like, you may make payments toward the balance of the puppy at any time.
